Lukas, your writing style honors your father and showcases your own voice. This is an impressive accomplishment. The book adds more than I ever imagined was present in the man I worked with for 12 years. I learned a lot about him, and was left wanting to know more about you. All best wishes, Diane

Stories of mental illnesses, in all their complexities, don’t usually equate with pleasurable entertainment. But I enjoyed your book immensely—your sensitivity to the subject of mental health, sharing both your father’s story and your own insights made for a powerful portrayal. You dealt with the often grave difficulties and also the occasional surprising gifts of life with mental illness.
I identified with the therapeutic benefits of writing and keeping chronicles of your experiences. My own journaling has helped me understand and even overcome some of the difficulties of coping with my loved ones’ mental illnesses.
